5 things to know: August 17

Good Morning Everybody! It’s great to be back with you after the weekend. Here are 5 things you need to know:

• It’s time for 6-10 year olds to get their exploration on with “Earth: The Amazing Planet” class at the Flower Mound Community Activity Center. Kids will learn about protecting the environment, making recycled paper, investigating animals and even make a case of an animal footprint to take home.

• There are several road closings/shifts beginning today in the Highland Village area.

• There’s a Flower Mound Town Council meeting at 6 p.m. at town hall.

• Tuesday is the annual Argyle Chamber of Commerce teachers breakfast. You do need to register for a spot.

• Members of the Flower Mound Fire Department will be going door-to-door in the Franklin Hills area to talk with homeowners about how conditions in our area are ripe for wildfires.
