LISD students bring home awards

School busFlower Mound High School and Marcus High School athletes were recognized for competing in the UIL State Track and Field Meet.

McKamy Middle School’s Robotics Teams were recognized for competing at the National VEX Tournament and Technology Students Association State Competition. Team Trifecta, represented by eighth-graders Carter Henry, Cole Cayard, Garrett McGee, Richard Kim,
Tommy Ward and Saravan Narayanan, won third in the nation. Team RRS, represented by eighth-graders Kevin Turner, Rithvik Kalidindi and Suket Shah, placed eighth in the nation. These teams designed, built and programmed sophisticated robots that competed on a game field against 64 other teams across the country.

FMHS Robotics Team was recognized for taking second place in the VEX Championship, where the team also received Best in State CREAT Award. In addition, the team also took first place in the Technology Students Association State competition.

Students from FMHS were recognized for earning top honors in the Scholastic Writing Competition, Congressional Art Contest and/or Visual Arts Scholastic Event.

FMHS’ Texas Association of Future Educators students were recognized for competing in the state conference Feb. 14-16 and bringing home top awards.

MHS’ Texas Association of Future Educators students were recognized for competing in the Future Educators Association’s National Conference April 25 and state conference Feb. 14-16. Overall, the group of students came home with national titles, top awards with blue ribbons at State.

MHS’ Winter Guard was recognized for taking third place and winning the bronze medal at the 2015 Winter Guard International World Championships in Ohio.
