Police descended on a Flower Mound business Wednesday evening after a threat was allegedly made against an employee there.
About 6:30 p.m. an unknown person with a heavy accent called a business in the 2600 block of FM 2499 and made the threats, police said.
The call prompted police to respond to the scene where the business — a witness said it was Red, Hot & Blue — and surrounding businesses were evacuated and the building and surrounding areas were searched.
Police determined that the threats were false. The investigation is ongoing but Cpt. Wess Griffin said police have indications that this was what he called a “swatting” call intended to falsely prompt an emergency response.
No motive has been determined as of this time, he said.
