Three Copper Canyon graduates have received scholarship money from an unusual source — the town’s cookbook scholarship fund.
Elizabeth Schattle received a $2,000 award as she pursues a degree in veterinary medicine. Her parents are Paul and Susan Schattle.
Melissa Morales also received scholarship money from the cookbook fund. She is seeking a degree in international business management. Art and Sheila Morales are her parents.
Another award from this fund was given to Morgan Nicholas, who grew up in Copper Canyon and is the son of Andre and Patti Nicholas. He has been accepted to San Angelo State University and plans to earn his degree in animal husbandry of cattle raised for beef production.
Schattle, Morales and Nicholas graduated from Marcus High School.
