Pilot Knoll Park Boat Ramp Closed/Movie in the Park Cancelled
The Highland Village Parks and Recreation Department has temporarily closed the boat ramp at Pilot Knoll Park due to high water in the area. The road to the boat ramp is currently underwater and the lake levels are anticipated to rise. In addition, the May 15 Movie in the Park event has been cancelled. The final movie in the series, Dolphin Tale 2, will be shown on May 29 at Unity Park. City officials are monitoring and will announce if any further amenities or facilities are closed at Pilot Knoll Park.
Twin Coves Park and Boat Ramp
The lake level on Grapevine Lake has reached a critical point and is currently several feet over the boat ramp. For the safety of all boaters the Town of Flower Mound has closed the boat ramp at Twin Coves Park. Furthermore, the U.S. Corps of Engineers has indicated lake levels will continue to rise, making access to the park both difficult and potentially dangerous; leading the Town to make the decision to close the park indefinitely to day use and camping until further notice. Park Staff will monitor conditions on a daily basis. Call 972.874.6300 or visit www.flower-mound.com/parks for updates regarding the park and boat ramp closures.
Cross Timbers Trailhead
Due to the increasing water level of Grapevine Lake, the U.S. Corps of Engineers closed Cross Timbers Trailhead, located at Hwy 377 and FM 1171, until further notice.
