I’ve been able to enjoy a great friendship with Swirl Bakery owners Chris and Melissa Norwood for several years and their restaurant is one of my favorite go-tos when I’m hungry. Swirl Bakery has been a Flower Mound institution since 2007, offering great breakfast, lunch and dinner options to eat in the restaurant or take home with you.
So, to what does Chris accredit his ability to stay in business for so long?
He says that first and foremost, over the years his customers have become more than just customers – they’ve truly become friends. When you walk into Swirl, Chris is constantly walking around the restaurant, greeting his customers, catching up on what’s new with them and their families. Which is a large reason why people keep coming back! I know it’s part of the reason I do.
The other reason is because of the variety of menu options – Swirl Bakery truly offers something for everyone. And many of the dishes Swirl serves are original recipes and are made from scratch right there in the restaurant – including the chicken salad, soups, cakes and brownies.
Chris is also very active in the community, providing catering for corporate meetings and luncheons, catering luncheons at the Flower Mound Senior Center and donating food to various local clubs and charities.
And for Easter, Swirl Bakery offers an incredible Easter Brunch from 10:00am-2:00pm. The menu includes delicious dishes like eggs benedict, french toast, spiral glazed ham, au gratin potatoes, Hill Country Casserole and a great assortment of cakes, pies, cupcakes, cookies, etc.
You do have to make reservations in order to join in on the brunch and the cost is $21.95 for adults (including a beverage) and $9.95 for children 3-12 years old.
So, if you’ve been on the lookout for a great brunch to take the family to, call Swirl Bakery today at 214-513-1334 to make your reservations! You know you don’t want to end up spending all morning in your kitchen preparing food – go ahead and just head over to Swirl and take some of the pressure off yourself this holiday weekend!
I love Swirl Bakery and I’m so grateful Chris and Melissa have become such a Flower Mound staple over the years. Next time you’re in the mood for some incredible tomato basil soup or eggs benedict, get yourself to Swirl! Or if you ever need catering, these are your guys!
We hope each of you have a blessed Easter weekend and get to spend some time with those you love the most. And of course, we hope you eat lots of great food, Foodies!
