Sheriff surprises student who sends letter

travis_gracieSheriff Will Travis received a letter from a young woman named Gracie who is in the Fourth Grade at Legacy Christian School in Frisco. This afternoon, Gracie got a surprise when the sheriff she hoped to one day meet came to her classroom to answer her question in person.

The administration had Gracie (above on the right next to Sheriff Travis), and her friend come down to the office where Sheriff Travis was waiting to meet her.

Her expression shows how delighted she was with the surprise.

The contents of her letter are below:

“Hi, my name is Gracie. I am 9 years old. I go to school at Legacy Christian Academy, Frisco, TX. in Miss Brubakers Class in 4th grade.

“We’re doing a county project and everyone gets their own county to write about. I picked Denton County.

“I love riding horses! It’s one of my hobbies if you’re wondering. I would love to meet you someday.

“I also have one question. Can you arrest someone just because (you) want to? Please write back.

Sincerely,
Gracie, 9”
