Lewisville ISD employee arrested, fired for inappropriate sexual contact with 16-year-old student

A Lewisville ISD employee was arrested in connection with inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old male student.

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, the Lewisville Police Department was contacted by administrators of the Lewisville Independent School district and advised that there was information that a district employee may have had inappropriate contact with a student, according to a press release from the Lewisville Police Department.

A Crimes Against Children detective interviewed the suspect, Krista Young, 35, of Little Elm, who worked as a paraprofessional at the Purnell Center in Lewisville. Police said Young admitted to the detective that she had engaged in sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old male student on several occasions during the past few months.

Young turned herself in to the Lewisville jail on Friday where she was arraigned and transferred to the Denton County jail on Sunday. Her bond was set at $10,000.

The child’s parents have been in contact with detectives as well as school district officials, according to police.

Karen Permetti, public information officer for Lewisville ISD, told police Young was fired from the district on Tuesday. Paents who have students at Purnell were contacted on the same day.

Improper Relationship with Educator/Student is a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.
