Flower Mound to hold another public hearing on proposed master plan changes

A Town Hall Meeting has been scheduled to provide Flower Mound residents the opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the proposed changes to the town’s Master Plan.

The proposed amendments resulted from a Master Plan Review process that started on August 5th and involved more than 400 people. Community Meetings were conducted on Sept. 19 and 21 at the Flower Mound Public Library. There have been a total of 15 meetings where the master plan changes have been discussed.

The latest meeting will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. at Town Hall, 2121 Cross Timbers Road, and will be broadcast live on FMTV (Grande Cable Channel 12, Time Warner Cable Channel 16, and Verizon FIOS Channel 42) and through the Town’s website at www.flower-mound.com/fmtv.

Residents are encouraged to arrive on time in order to benefit from the responses to all of the questions.

For residents whose schedules are more flexible during the daytime, staff will also be available at Town Hall on Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to answer questions in a come-and-go format.

Based on the direction from the Town Council the following topics will be covered:

•    Proposed density standard/cap
•    Removing or explicitly defining active recreation
•    Detailing the enhanced zoning process
•    Sewer

On Dec. 2, the Town Council postponed voting on several proposed amendments to the town’s Master Plan until their Dec. 16 meeting.
