A two vehicle accident Friday morning sent a car careening into a house off of FM 2499 in Highland Village.
Police said a vehicle traveling north on FM 2499 around 6:30 a.m. was struck by a vehicle that ran a stop sign at Castlewood Boulevard, causing the first vehicle to veer off the road and crash into a house at the northeast corner of FM 2499 and Northwood Boulevard.
The driver of the first vehicle received minor injuries and was taken to a medical facility by a family member. The two people in the second vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No injuries were reported to the occupants of the home.
Police issued a citation for failure to yield right of way to the driver of the second vehicle.
The home received minor damage, was stabilized by authorities and the residents can stay in the home, police said.
