Busy Argyle music teacher makes exercise a priority

Dianne Chrestopoulos is a busy elementary music teacher, wife and mother of two beautiful grown children.  Making exercise… a priority!

“Exercise is the time I have all to myself to take care of me,” Dianne says. “We have all heard it before, ‘If you don’t take care of yourself, no one else will.’  After my children were born
I began to walk more and lift weights on my own, but not getting the results I wanted.  My husband was very supportive, but it doesn’t work – kind of like trying to teach piano to your own kids!”

With a fast paced world filled with demanding responsibilities, our needs quickly get moved to the bottom of the list.  Self care is critical for health, stress management and to have joy in our life to serve the ones we love.

“I was not much into exercise in college, or even beyond,” Dianne recalls. “My excuse was that
I was already thin, did not need to lose any weight, so why should I exercise?   Well, if I knew then what I know now about ‘how’ the body ages, I would have been more serious in my attitude and exercise habits.

“As much as I LOVE sweets – Now, I think twice before grabbing for that cookie or donut!  A little voice in my head says: ‘do you really want to put that in your body?’

“My journey with Argyle Adventure Boot Camp began while reading testimonials in the local paper and seeing an ad for the boot camp.  I wondered about what they did at ‘boot’ camp.” I was curious to learn more; one can’t help to think ARMY when you hear boot camp.

“The opportunity to experience ‘Boot Camp’ came through an education auction and with continued nervousness; I decided to give it a try. I registered and was assured that camp was for all ages, all sizes and all fitness abilities. – I attended my first session at the end of March
2012.

“Wow, it was challenging, but exhilarating and everyone was so friendly and helpful that I felt great about my decision to join.  Plus – it was fun!  I was encouraged to go at my own pace; variations were given for every level.  I knew from the first day I could do it and could do it daily.

“Within 30 days I felt like a new person.  I had tons of energy and felt stronger.  I could actually run (ok, jog) almost a mile, do 25 pushups (not the girly kind!) and could go beyond what I thought was my limit.  In addition, every day was different – so one is ever bored!  Now,
I am into my second year and I feel great.

“Norma is our wonderful leader who motivates, inspires and compliments our efforts every day.  I like that!  Plus, she is fun and I really like that!  It’s never too late to start getting younger every day. Put aside all your fears and come out to see what expert coaching and a friendly environment can do for you.  I will be there.

“I can tell Dianne has a new appreciation for life and health.  The physical transformation has been extraordinary.  You can see development in her muscles, which proves that at any age, physical betterment and even muscle definition is possible.  She will be starting her 60th year soon healthier than her 50th year. Not many people can say that!

“When Norma did my fitness assessment on my first camp in January 2013, she encouraged us to try the Isagenix 30-Day deep cleansing and fat burning system to detox our bodies after the holiday season.  I was eager to follow the plan and ultimately, my husband and I did the cleanse.   It was worth it – we obtained great results!

“Dianne has been a pleasure to work with,” coach Norma says. “There have been many challenges for her, including keeping up with busy school schedule and helping her college-age children settle into their lives in new cities after college; and, recently losing her beloved pet, Blaze, a Great Dane.

“Dianne was determined not to let anything stand in her way and never made excuses or complained.  She kept showing up to camp and working her way to being the healthiest she could be. Her determination paid off!”
