Flores good choice for constable

Denton County has an opening for a new Constable of Precinct 1, which covers the areas of Lantana, Denton, Lake Dallas, Corinth, Hickory Creek and Shady Shores. Former Precinct 1 Constable Jim Dotson passed away last year. His seat will be appointed by the Denton County Commissioners Court rather than by open election. Until the position is filled, the Chief Deputy acts in his place. Constables are constitutionally authorized peace officers responsible to serve as bailiff, execute warrants, and perform civil subpoenas. In order to be eligible for appointment, a candidate must have lived in the precinct for a minimum of 6 months and possess or be eligible to attain their Peace Officers License. There are several candidates vying for the opportunity, and based on research of the qualifications of each, Jesse Flores would make an excellent choice. Flores will bring training and experience to this position, including 20+ years in law enforcement, 10+ years as a School Resource Officer. He is a Master Peace Officer and holds a Crime Prevention Inspector Certificate. Let your voice be known to the decision makers on this paramount decision. You can reach the Commissioners Court directly at 940-349-2810 or by visiting www.dentoncounty.com/court.
