The Marcus girls basketball team outscored Mansfield Timberview 17-10 in the second quarter of Tuesday night’s game, and that made all the difference in the world for the Lady Marauders.
Marcus defeated Timberview 53-50 to advance to the regional semi-final round, holding off a third quarter rally from Timberview to get the victory.
Vanessa Jones led the team in scoring with 13 points, while Sierra Bone added 10 points in the game.
Alex Lapeyrolerie scored nine points, and Morgan Easley, Ashley James, Taylor Roof, and Jenna Davis all combined for 21 points in the contest.
Marcus will take on the winner of the Southlake Carroll/Lubbock Coronado game at 6 p.m. on Feb. 22 at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center in Fort Worth.
