Police remind residents to lock vehicles

Numerous vehicle burglaries were reported Monday night into early Tuesday morning in Highland Village’s Briarhill Estates area.

Items taken from vehicles left on the street or driveway included money, iPods, GPS devices and radar detectors. No signs of forced entry were found.

Highland Village police issued a press release Tuesday that states: “Residents are reminded of our Lock, Take and Hide program. LOCK your vehicle, TAKE your keys, HIDE your belongings. Always garage your vehicle whenever possible and have good exterior security lighting. If you see or hear anything suspicious call 911 first!”

A car burglary involving an unlocked vehicle was also reported in Lantana’s Navarro neighborhood on Tuesday morning.
