Church to hold free family concert

Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound will host a free concert event featuring The Big BIG Band from Sweden this Monday, July 9, at 7 p.m.

The Big BIG Band from Sweden was formed in 1955 as a means to reach young people through the Gospel. They have presented over 1,000 concerts in Sweden, England, Germany, and other locations around the world.

This will be Big BIG Band from Sweden’s third stop in their 2012 Texas Tour. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit Shepherd’s Canyon Retreat to aid church workers who need spiritual renewal.

“It’s a wonderful and fun event to attend,” said Chris Winston, Director of Music Ministries at Lamb of God Lutheran Church. “Attendees get to hear a 60-piece set from a big band without a cover charge!”

The Big BIG Band from Sweden, which includes members in their late teens, those who have played in the band for more than 40 years, and all ages in between, will perform a variety of music, all with a ‘big band sound’ that will appeal to all audiences.

Lamb of God Lutheran Church is located at 1401 Cross Timbers Road in Flower Mound, and offers a traditional worship service at 8 a.m. each Sunday, a blended worship service at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday School at 9:15 a.m.  For more information about Lamb of God, Big BIG Band from Sweden or other church activities, call 972-539-5200 or visit www.log.org.
