Lunch event supports families in need

Victory Mortgage in Flower Mound held their first Shelter Fund lunch fundraiser at Bari’s Italian Restaurant on Dec. 13 with over 75 people showing up to lend their support.

Bari’s donated 20 percent of the proceeds from the lunch, which were matched by Victory Mortgage, for a total of $550 going to Hope Incorporated in Denton.

“They will be using the funds to help two families facing eviction from their homes and put them into a program that will give them a plan to help prevent them from becoming homeless in the future,” said John Fox, Senior Loan Officer at Victory Mortgage.

Door prizes at the event were won by David Hodges, Wade Blair, Monica Evers and Elizabeth Pawlinski.

Fox said that their next lunch will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, between 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bari’s and he hopes to raise at least $750.

The February lunch will be held at the same time and location on Feb. 7.
