Miss Texas makes special visit to Argyle

Kendall Morris, Miss Texas 2011, paid a special visit Friday to former Argyle High School student Taylor Ishee, who is battling Leukemia.

Ishee visited the high school with his family and accepted a gift basket put together by the Argyle High School Student Council and members of the community. He was greeted by Morris during his visit.

Morris’ father battled Leukemia and her platform is “Leukemia: Living for a Cure”. She said she hoped to promote funding for research to find a cure for Leukemia during her reign as Miss Texas.

Morris was in Argyle speaking to middle and intermediate school students.

The AHS Student Council is hosting a blood drive on Monday, Oct. 31st, in honor of Taylor Ishee. Over 130 people have signed up to donate blood so far. Carter BloodCare will be on site at the high school from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. taking donations.
