Keep Argyle Beautiful will host “An Evening in the Garden” fundraiser on Saturday, October 1, from 6:30pm to 10:00pm at the home of Mark and Kippi Halfin, owners of Argyle Landscapes.
The event includes a catered dinner, live music, and a silent auction. Paradise Liquor and Food will feature several beers and wines through a donation from Boyle & Lowry.
Also featured will be wine tastings from Argyle’s Marker Cellars from Marker Ranch and Vineyard.
Live music will be presented by Bonnie and Nick Norris, a brother/sister duo who play the fiddle, banjo and guitar. Their song list includes a diverse mix of country, blues, funky bluegrass, gypsy jazz, 60’s surf, Latin world beat and growing list of original songs.
Tickets are $100 per couple, $50 per person, and a portion of the ticket price is tax deductible. Attendance is limited to 200 people. Call Kim Collins at Argyle Town Hall at 940-464-7273 to reserve your tickets.
This will be the only fundraiser Keep Argyle Beautiful will have this year.
The Keep Argyle Beautiful Board is raising money to start a community garden on the town-owned lot on Front Street and to build a large living wall in the shape of an “A” at the new Town Hall.
According to a press release, “The community garden will provide a place for adults and children alike to build relationships, and get involved in beautifying the neighborhood community while working with nature. The board envisions a peaceful place that children can learn about native plants with educational garden trails, get dirty, grow produce and harvest food that might be given to some of the local needy families or homebound senior citizens. It will also be an excellent opportunity for youth to earn community service hours.”
KAB also provides household and hazardous waste cleanup annually to the citizens of Argyle, gives away approximately 200 trees per year, sponsors the Town Christmas tree lighting and continues to educate youth in Argyle about improving the environment, protecting the watershed and environmentally protected areas and various recycling efforts in each school.
To sponsor the event, make a tax-deductible cash or in-kind gift, or donate an auction or raffle prize, such as concert, event or sporting venue tickets, private lessons, vacation rentals, artwork, gift baskets, hunting or fishing excursions, restaurants or dinners, or services, contact Bonny Haynes at [email protected].
