Flower Mound residents have spoken. Will Central Market and Cheesecake Factory listen? The town’s Economic Development division released the results of a survey sent to residents with their March utility bills asking them to name what stores and restaurants they wanted to see in Flower Mound.
The town received 1,134 responses, representing 5.43% of the 20,885 households where the survey was sent.
The top ten retailers listed were:

3. Bed, Bath & Beyond
4. Container Store
5. Gap
6. Market Street
7. Crate & Barrel
8. Pottery Barn
9. Williams-Sonoma
10. Academy

Making the top ten restaurant wish list were:
1. Cheesecake Factory
2. Olive Garden
3. PF Chang’s
4. La Madeleine
5. In-N-Out Burger
6. Pappadeaux
7. Macaroni Grill
8. Outback Steakhouse

10. Panera Bread

When asked about their shopping habits, more than 77% of respondents indicated that they shop locally in Flower Mound, which ranked higher than total responses for other communities.
Lewisville ranked the highest choice for out-of-town shopping, followed by Highland Village, Southlake and Grapevine.
A majority of residents also said that they dine out locally in Flower Mound, and the number of times respondents dined out increased to an average of 4.7 times per week, up from 3 times per week in the 2007 survey.
Town officias said that results of the survey will be used as a recruitment tool by both the town and retail brokers to target the most requested restaurants and retailers.
