Town accepting Independence Fest vendors

In preparation for their celebration taking place on Monday, July 4th, the Town of Flower Mound is currently accepting vendor applications from businesses and non-profits across D/FW who would like to showcase themselves to thousands of attendees at Independence Fest 2011.

“We are very excited to be in the planning stages for Independence Fest 2011, where we are projecting to have an attendance of over 10,000 visitors,” said Chuck Jennings, Recreation Superintendent, Town of Flower Mound.

“With this year’s event bringing together two celebrations, we are delighted to partner with the many diverse businesses and non-profit groups from across D/FW that will make this a wonderful and successful community event for everyone.”

By combining the celebration of Independence for the United States with the Town’s 50th Anniversary celebration, Independence Fest 2011 is a family-friendly festival featuring the live music of Grand Funk Railroad, Professor D, and Mound of Sound; as well as a Children’s Parade, a free Kid’s Zone, a vintage car show presented by Memory Lane Car Shows, and a fantastic fireworks display following all the festivities.

Vendors participating in the festival will be showcased at Bakersfield Park, 1201 Duncan Lane, Flower Mound.  Vendor applications are due by Monday, June 6th, and any applications received between June 7th – 17th will be assessed a late fee.  No vendor applications will be accepted after Friday, June 17th, and the Town of Flower Mound is not accepting vendors that sell or give away glow-in-the-dark or lighted items.
