The Voices of Flower Mound community chorus, directed by Mary McGuyer and accompanied by Sonia Shin, presented its fifth anniversary concert, “Best of Five” Saturday evening at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church in Flower Mound.
An enthusiastic audience was treated to a variety of selections from Broadway musicals, motion pictures, classic favorites, and several numbers by the Junior Voices of Flower Mound.
Featured as soloists in the song “You Raise Me Up” were sopranos Joanne Hughes and Crystal Nelson.
A soprano solo in a lively rendition of “Anything Goes” was performed by Donna Kooken.
Soprano Laura Alexander and Joann Hanson, an alto, were soloists in a medley of songs from the Rogers and Hammerstein musical,”Sound Of Music”, which was arranged by Mary McGuyer to combine both the adult and Junior choirs.
The Voices Of Flower Mound is a no-audition community chorus, open to anyone who enjoys singing. New members are always welcome. Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the choir room at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church. The Junior Voices rehearse Tuesdays from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m. in the same location.
