Eric Spiritas and Bill Mitchell, owners of Kwik Kar Lube & Auto Repair Center and Car Wash & Detail Center in Flower Mound, are hosting an event to fight cancer in May.
The event will be held at Kwik Kar Wash at 2801 Flower Mound Rd on Saturday, May 7th, from 10am to 4pm and will include live music, complimentary food from Texas Roadhouse, a bounce house, games for kids, a dunk tank, silent auction, and raffle prizes.
Kwik Kar is partnering with Swim Across America, a national non-profit organization that raises money for cancer research through swimming events to honor Team Laurn, a cancer patient. 100 percent of the proceeds will directly benefit the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas.
The Baylor facility is a new center that specializes in clinical trials, research and care. Currently, many cancer patients travel outside of North Texas for clinical trials. Now that the new center has opened, patients will be able to receive their much-needed care closer to home.
Kwik Kar has already dedicated a significant sum to the organization and is dedicated to raising thousands more for the cause from this event in order to accomplish four goals: Raise money for the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center; Encourage swimmers to participate in the June 11, 2011 cancer fundraiser swim; Recruit volunteers to help with the event on June 11; Bring the community together for a day of fun that will benefit a great cause!
Kwik Kar would like to thank its local sponsors, for their continued support: Cloud 9 Salon and Spa, State Farm-Tony Jones, Texas Roadhouse, and Flower Mound Fitness. Kwik Kar invites you to join them on May 7th from 10-4 pm. In case of rain, the event will be held the following weekend, on Saturday May 14th.
