Showing off for the community

The Women of Flower Mound want to thank all of our sponsors, retailers, models, members and the community for coming out and supporting our 9th annual Spring into Fashion Show fundraiser on March 5th. It was a fun filled event with hip music and trendy clothing, a day of fashion on the runway.

County Commissioner Bobbie Mitchell set the pace with her own sense of style and humor.  Our community models swaggered to the beat all for the sake of a good cause.  The talent included the vocals of Lexi Wozniak and dancing by Turning Point Dance Studio.  Beautiful clothing contributed by the retailers include Apricot Lane, Ashira Attire, Belks (who graciously donated gift bags), Banana Republic, Cavenders, Chicks Dig It…And Guys Do Too!, Heaven Sent Children’s Boutique, Janie & Jack, Jos A. Bank, Ooh La La!, and Yoga Island.  Hair designs were by Splurge Salon and makeup by Sutera Spa and Lynn Baldwin with Mary Kay.  Rachel Kay Photography lent her talent with the camera.

Sponsors include Cornerstone Staffing, FenceScape Design & Construction, Cox Cleaning, Wonderland Montessori, Rouge Moderne Bistro, Christian Community Action, Joe’s Hitch & Trailer, Northstar Bank, Our Community magazine, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Crawford & Company Realtors and Schlotzsky’s Deli.

Donations were given from a community who knows the meaning of generosity.  As anyone knows who has orchestrated a fundraiser, the biggest “thank you” goes to the hard working fashion show committee: Carol Hoffman, Johanna Skiles, Angie Cox, Michelle Draper, Sandya George, Linda Belmont, Tatyana Garner, Carol Anne Crossan, Karen Hayden and Tasha Bertoldi.  So many other members stepped in and helped as well.

Founded in 1975, the Women of Flower Mound is a 501c(3) and is the sister organization of the Summit Club, the two oldest non-profits in Flower Mound.  For more information visit our website at www.womenofflowermound.org.  Proceeds from the fashion show will benefit scholarships and Christian Community Action.
