Double Oak Police Calls

Recent calls reported by the Double Oak Police Department:

October 16
11:53 a.m.  100 blk. Oak Trail – Speeding Vehicles – A concerned resident reported speeding vehicles on Oak Trail.

11:11 p.m.  2600 blk. Old Alton Rd. – Assist Agency – Double Oak Officer dispatched to assist Denton County Sheriff’s Department on suspicious person with axe walking on Old Alton Rd.  Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

11:16 p.m.  8000 blk. Justin Rd. – Alarm – Double Oak Officer responded to an alarm call.  No offense detected.

October 17
3:48 a.m.  6000 blk. I-35W – Assist Agency – Double Oak Officer dispatched to assist Northlake Police Department on a major accident.  Justin PD, Argyle PD and Roanoke FD all assisted on the call.

12:22 p.m.  500 blk. Whispering Oaks – Meet Complainant – Double Oak Officer was asked questions regarding a possible criminal trespass warning.

October 18
1:04 a.m.  200 blk. S. Carruth Ln. – Barking Dog – Resident reported barking dog.  Dog ceased barking upon officer arrival.

10:45 a.m.  300 blk. Cedar Crest Ln. – Suspicious Circumstances – A concerned resident reported lights being turned on in a vacant house.  Officers investigated and secured the residence.  No crime was detected.

4:00 p.m.  200 blk. Twin Lakes Dr. – Found Property – Resident found credit cards that had been taken in a Flower Mound burglary.  Cards were returned to the card holder by Double Oak Officer.

7:19 p.m.  8000 blk. Holliday Ln., Lantana – Assist Agency – Double Oak Officer dispatched to assist Denton County Sheriff’s Department on a suspicious vehicle.  Officer was unable to located the vehicle.

October 19
1:25 p.m.  100 blk. Oak Grove Circle – Solicitor Complaint – Officer made contact with a solicitor who did not have a permit.  Vendor was instructed on the procedure for obtaining a permit and then decided to leave Town.

2:20 p.m.  100 blk. Oak View Dr. – Suspicious Circumstances – Concerned resident reported a white pickup truck parked in front of her house when her child was dropped off on October 17, 2010.  There is not description of the driver.  Adults walking through the neighborhood thought the truck may have been following the car her son had been riding in before being brought home.  Resident also reported that one week earlier, while her son was playing in the front yard, her husband observed a white truck in front of the house.  The vehicle departed when the husband went outside.  Resident is unsure if the events are related but found the behavior odd and wanted the police to be aware.

7:25 p.m.  100 blk. Forest Oaks – 911 Hang-up – Officer responded to a 911 hang-up call and determined that everything at the residence was okay.

October 21
5:40 p.m.  100 blk. Carruth – 911 Hang-up – Officer responded to a 911 hang-up.  It was determined that the homeowner was having phone problems.
