Volunteers with the Flower Mound Cares citizen’s group submitted over 6,100 signatures on a petition Wednesday afternoon to town officials in order to slow the proliferation of new gas pipelines and related facilities.
The organization’s goal is to propose an ordinance that would place a 180-day moratorium on new gas pipelines and centralized wastewater collection facility permits.
Once the signatures are verified, the town council will address the proposed ordinance or put it to a vote for the residents this November.
