Concert series features Chamber Music

At 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, the Lamb of God Concert Series will feature Harmonie del Sur, a duo consisting of Drs. Robert and Lauren Murray.

Harmonie del Sur performs new and existing works for trumpet and oboe.

The duo has performed worldwide, in venues from Kalavryta, Greece to Carnegie Hall in New York City.  Hailed for their “wonderful music rapport”, “impeccable intonation”, and “exquisite performances” they have been recipients of numerous new works written specifically for their combination of instruments.

Lamb of God Lutheran Church is located at 1401 Cross Timbers Road in Flower Mound – across from Parker Square.

Classical music is often accused of being elitist and inaccessible to the average person.  The Concert Series at Lamb of God Lutheran Church is bringing affordable chamber music to Flower Mound.

“It is our goal to use the Concert Series as a way to educate the community about how exciting and interesting chamber music can be,” says Tony Corson, one of the founders of the Concert Series.

“We want to provide families with an opportunity for a night out without breaking the budget.”  He adds, “We want to showcase up-and-coming young talent as well as world-class performers.”

Previous concerts have featured Mike Hanson, piano; Mary Karen Clardy, flute and Stefan Karlsson, jazz piano.

Tickets are available at the door for $5 with free admission for students.  Contact 972-539-5200.
