Local Reality TV Star Gets Another Shot at Love

Although Southern Denton County’s most eligible bachelor, 31-year-old Jake Pavelka of Lantana, did not win the heart of Jillian Harris on ABC’s popular romance reality series The Bachelorette last year, he was rewarded with a second chance to find love on the small screen.

Pavelka, a commercial pilot and limousine company owner, began his quest for a mate on Monday night on ABC’s The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love.  Although he will have his hands full with 25 women vowing for his attention, Jake is expected to just be himself through the process.

“Jake’s as sincere as any Bachelor we’ve had,” said The Bachelor host Chris Harrison in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“He really came into this not for the action and adventure but to find a wife. This is something we’ve never had, but it made for a great show. So the women had drama, but it was in a totally different way.”

Pavelka was the first one to win a date with Jillian on The Bachelorette last year, and was the early favorite to go the distance and beat out 29 other suitors, but things quickly cooled off, and he was sent home broken-hearted near the end of the season.
