Incentives pave way for new rehabilitation facility

The Flower Mound Town Council recently approved an economic development incentive with Continuum Health Services to turn an empty medical office building into a rehabilitation facility.

Plans call for Continuum Rehabilitation Hospital to be a licensed 42-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility projected to generate 110 jobs and create several million dollars of additional tax base, officials said.

The 55,280-square-foot building at 3100 Peters Colony was originally constructed in 2004.

“The addition of another high-quality medical development such as Continuum’s rehabilitation hospital shows that Flower Mound is becoming a destination for medical services which will help to increase the tax base, create new professional jobs and enhance the quality of life for Flower Mound residents,” said Flower Mound Mayor Jody Smith. “It is also a great use of existing office space that had not yet been utilized to its potential.”
