Over 50 children received new bicycle helmets free of charge Tuesday evening at the Lantana Golf Club as part of the Texas Medical Association’s Hard Hats for Little Heads program.
The event was sponsored by Dr. Rebecca Butler of Lantana Pediatrics and Mark R. Finley CLU of The Finley Agency in Lantana.
Each child was fitted with their new helmet and received instruction from Dr. Butler on the correct way to wear the helmet along with other safety tips.
The Hard Hats for Little Heads program was created in 1994 to help reduce head injuries among Texas children.
