A win for Rotary and the Rangers

Guests at Highland Village Rotary Club’s 2nd Annual Formal But Tacky Ball had something to celebrate on Oct. 22nd on the rooftop lounge at A Royal Affairs Ballroom in Old Town Lewisville.

The crowd cheered as the Texas Rangers celebrated their win over the Yankees taking them to the World Series.  The club could not have planned a bigger end to the event that featured dinner, dancing, a crowning of a Tacky King and Queen, a dessert raffle, a VIP cigar lounge, and a live and silent auction.

Some of the items that raised the most money were a Texas Ranger jersey autographed by Darren Oliver, a seven course dinner for eight at The Grotto, a Dallas Stars autographed hockey stick, and a polo match for 24 guests at Prestonwood Polo & Country Club.

Special to the Formal But Tacky Ball is the Bras for a Cause auction that featured bras decorated by local artists to increase breast cancer awareness.  There were eleven bras featured in the auction such as: Treasure Your Chest,  Target Your Heart, Nestled in the Ta’Ta’s, Booby Sooner, Mardi Bra and Dairy Queen, to name a few.

The Highland Village Rotary Club is grateful to those who attended and those sponsors who supported the event.  The money raised will support local breast cancer charities and other local organizations and charities supported by the Highland Village Rotary Club.  Pictures and more information on the event can be found at www.rotaryformalbuttacky.com
