Dan’s Bagels now open in Argyle

After many setbacks and delays, Argyle residents finally have their Dan’s Bagels.

“It feels like it’s been years, but we are excited and ready,” said the store on social media.

The new shop is located at the Argyle Station shopping center at the corner of Hwy 377 and Frenchtown Road.

Dan’s Bagels is a North Texas bakery chain that serves bagels, breakfast and deli sandwiches, cookies, crumb cake, chips, coffee and tea, among other drink options.

The chain opened its original location in Trophy Club and has since opened locations in Grapevine, Fort Worth and now Argyle.

Dan’s Bagels was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the chain’s website.

While quarantined, Dan and Jen Hilbert took the chance to put their full focus on food – what it meant, represented and how it should be made.

The pair had lived on the East Coast for more than 30 years and yearned for a bagel that was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, just like they used to enjoy.

After quitting their corporate jobs, the couple started selling sourdough bagels out of their house and eventually opened up the Trophy Club location in 2021.

“Opening a bagel shop didn’t seem possible, especially during a global pandemic,” said Dan Hilbert. “But we knew our initial success along with some grit and determination could create something very special – and the evidence shows that we have.”
