Flower Mound has ranked highly in another study of crime statistics and safety.
SafeHome, a research organization that studies home security equipment and monitoring plans, recently published a list of the 65 safest cities in Texas with populations of at least 50,000.
Flower Mound ranked No. 1 in Texas and No. 10 in the country.
The other Denton County cities on the list ranked in the top half, with Lewisville coming in No. 24 and Denton ranking No. 27.
Researchers calculated safety scores by using the latest FBI crime data, population and citizen-to-officer ratio, according to SafeHome.
