A prescribed burn on The Flower Mound this week was cut short because of weather conditions, according to the Flower Mound Fire Department.
On Tuesday, FMFD conducted a partial prescribed burn on the northern portion of The Flower Mound to remove invasive plant species and allow the natural prairie grass and wildflowers to thrive in the spring.
The burn was supposed to cover the northern two-thirds of The Mound. However, due to the changing wind patterns on Tuesday, crews were only able to burn about 40 percent of the intended area, according to the fire department. As of Friday, another prescribed burn has not been scheduled on The Flower Mound.
