The town of Flower Mound will hold public hearings in the next three weeks on its proposed budget and tax rate for Fiscal Year 2018-19.

The public hearing on the proposed budget will begin at 6 p.m. on Aug. 20 at Flower Mound Town Hall, 2121 Cross Timbers Road. There will also be a public hearing on the proposed tax rate at the same meeting, and there will be another one on Sept. 4, according to a town news release.

The proposed budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s budget by an amount of $3,706,013, which is a 8.17 percent increase from last year’s budget, according to the town. The proposed tax rate is the same as the current one.

The proposed budget is available to the public on the town website or at the Town Secretary’s office at Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Click here for more information about the tax rate.

If the budget and tax rate are approved by Flower Mound Town Council on Sept. 17, they will go into effect on Oct. 1, according to the town.
