The Flower Mound Police Department’s annual toy drive, Santa Cops, raised enough donations to give hundreds of local kids a better Christmas morning.
The Santa Cops program collects donations and gifts throughout the year and then distributes them at Christmas to children in Flower Mound that might have otherwise not received a gift from Santa, according to the town.
The toy drive, which ended Dec. 13, received more than 2,500 donations of toys and necessities, said Captain Wess Griffin, as well as cash donations. Santa Cops will provide Christmas for 82 local families, including more than 240 children.
