Stolen credit cards lead to vehicle burglary suspect

Gregory Lamont Allen

Double Oak police arrested a vehicle burglary suspect last week with the help of several other North Texas public safety agencies.

Gregory Lamont Allen Jr., 27, of Grand Prairie was booked into the Denton County Jail on November 9 on four Burglary of a Vehicle charges and two Credit Card Abuse charges, with one of each resulting from an incident in Double Oak.

Police said on the early morning hours of August 3rd someone entered a vehicle in the 100 block of Tanglewood and took property without permission.

During a follow-up investigation it was determined that credit cards were used, shortly after the burglary, to purchase electronics from a local discount retailer.

Allen was identified as a suspect and taken into custody with the assistance of the Northlake and Arlington police departments, along with the Denton County District Attorney’s Office.

Multiple investigations into burglaries within the Town of Double Oak are still ongoing. If you have any information, contact Double Oak Detective Clint Murphy at 972-355-5995.
