The Denton Area Teachers Credit Union raffled off a jet ski last week and donated the funds raised to the United Way of Denton County, according to a DATCU news release.

DATCU raised $16,719 with a raffle of a jet ski, valued at nearly $11,000, from The Cycle Center of Denton County according to the news release. Net proceeds will be used to help the United Way of Denton County, which supports 20 partner agencies focused on helping children, seniors, families, veterans, homeless people and people with mental illness.

“Giving back to our community is a significant part of our culture,” said DATCU president and CEO Glen McKenzie in a prepared statement. “We are excited about the success we achieved this first year of the raffle fundraising initiative. We extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone who purchased tickets and also to Kenny Martin at Cycle Center of Denton who contributed to our efforts.”
