The weather forecast for this week is not hospitable for the Celebrate Highland Village outdoor event.
In addition, the rising water level of Lewisville Lake has led the city planners to make some schedule and location changes in the best interest of residents and attendees.
The Celebrate Highland Village concert has been canceled and the evening fireworks have been relocated to Unity Park. There will be no music or food vendors.
The city encourages residents to walk or bike into the park as parking is limited. There will be no evening activities at Pilot Knoll Park.
The schedule for June 4, 2016, will be as follows:
Morning Events at Unity Park
6:30 a.m. – Registration Tables Open for the 1K/5K Run
7:30 a.m. – 1K starts; 5K starts immediately following the final 1K runner.
9:00 a.m. – Family Fish Out
10:30 a.m. – Arbor Day Proclamation
10:45 a.m. – Family Fish Out Awards
Evening Events at Unity Park
9:30 p.m. – Fireworks Extravaganza
