Storms, heavy rain hit area

Strong storms rolled through southern Denton County on Sunday.

A possible tornado moved up Hwy 377 on Sunday afternoon through Argyle and Denton. No major damage was reported in Argyle, but high water was a problem on some roadways.

There was major flooding in the town of Krum, which is west of Denton. Flower Mound Fire Department personnel on Sunday assisted authorities with multiple high water rescues.

There were reports of downed power lines and damage to a few businesses in Old Town Lewisville along Mill Street and trees were uprooted in Grapevine due to a possible tornado or straight-line winds on Sunday morning.

Early Sunday morning, a house on Timber Valley Drive in east Flower Mound caught fire after a lightning strike, causing major damage. No injuries were reported.
