I would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting me in my campaign for Justice of the Peace. It was a tough race, with a large geographical area to cover & some very well-qualified opponents. The issues in this race have been well defined. After talking with both candidates in the run-off, I’ve decided to give my support to the incumbent, Judge JW Hand.
Judge Hand has served two terms as our Justice of the Peace and is seeking his third and final term. In his 8 years as our Judge, he has served with integrity and fairness while overseeing an efficient court system and working well with our constable and deputy constables. Most importantly, Judge Hand is best suited of the two remaining candidates to fulfill the intentions of our legislators when they established the JP court system. This court was designed to be a “Peoples Court”, not a court to be overburdened by lawyers and legal fees, but to allow the average citizen to seek justice on their own. Statistics show that 95 % of all JP’s in the state of Texas are NOT lawyers. Let’s preserve that tradition!
