Constables Corner

Greetings, I want to first start by giving praise to the Lord Jesus Christ for enabling me to continue to serve everyone in my precinct and Denton County.

It is with that recognition that I want to congratulate all the winners in the past elections; city, county and state wide.  My prayers go out for the ones that are involved in upcoming runoffs, and that they may find the courage to continue to campaign in an ethical and victorious manner.

For those that participated in said elections and unfortunately were unsuccessful, I want to wish them encouragement in all their future endeavors.

An announcement is forthcoming about a new annual program I have created called the ‘Constable Burch Pigaway’ which will reward one lucky child who accurately guesses the total amount of coins in a piggybank at the end of the year.

The Pigaway is a program where I and my staff contribute loose change throughout the whole year to fill up the piggybank. At the end of the year during the holidays at a special location, the piggy bank will be opened and a winner announced.  Information on how to have your child entered as a contestant will be published in the next constable column and the contest will be open to children ages 4-12.

My only son, Cody, will be celebrating his birthday on March 31st, and I want to send out very special greetings and wish him a very happy birthday.  It can be difficult for me to spend much time with him due to him living in East Texas where he proudly serves as a sports coach in the local school district.  The distance can be challenging and I cherish the time we do have when we get to see each other.

My campaign manager, Candace Simon, and I will continue to be visible and supportive to local municipalities and county government where it is needed, and are gracious to serve during all seasons.

I want to wish everyone a happy and glorious Easter holiday.

As always, I will continue to stay involved in local law enforcement agencies, charities, senior community foundations, and civic organizations.

Thank you and God Bless.
