Calling all musicians…the Flower Mound Community Orchestras will hold auditions for all three orchestras on Sunday, Jan. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The Symphony Orchestra has a specific need for all strings– especially violins– but all instruments are welcome. The Preparatory and Progressive Orchestras need all instruments.
The Preparatory Orchestra, directed by Mark Scott, is open to musicians of all ages with 2-4 years of experience on their instruments. Emphasis will be placed on technical development and control, and rhythmic accuracy.
The Progressive Orchestra, directed by Rachel Jarvis, is open to musicians of all ages with 5 or more years of experience. The performing level should be intermediate to advanced. String candidates for the Progressive Orchestra must have experience playing in the 3rd-5th positions.
Family participation is welcome and encouraged in both orchestras.
The Symphony Orchestra is an adult orchestra, open to musicians at least 18 years of age with an advanced level of musical experience. There is a particular need for orchestral strings (violins, violas, celli, basses).
All auditions will be held in the choir room at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church, 6101 Morriss Road, Flower Mound. Please bring a written document listing the candidate’s name, contact information, musical experience and training.
Concerts are held at Trietsch and admission to the public is free.
