Denton County bridges could be slippery

A light coating of ice could be possible in Denton County this morning.

Forecasters downgraded the odds of a big winter ice storm and cancelled the Winter Storm Warning for Denton County, replacing it with a Winter Weather Advisory through noon today.

Meteorologist Brad Barton explained that at the last minute, slightly warmer air nosed into DFW from the southwest, leaving overnight temperatures close enough to freezing to prevent major icing on most bridges and overpasses.

Motorists should use caution on the roads, especially in the overnight and morning hours, and check back for the latest forecast.
