Flower Mound Council members Monday night unanimously approved the site plans for four new buildings that will add approximately 1 million square feet of commercial real estate to the Lakeside Business District as well as an estimated $30 million to the town’s commercial tax base.
“We are grateful Huntington Industrial and Crow Holdings chose Flower Mound to construct their commercial buildings,” said Mayor Pro Tem Steve Dixon. “These facilities will not only bring invaluable tax dollars to our community, but will also create the opportunity for hundreds of new jobs in Flower Mound.”
Huntington Industrial plans to construct a 400,000-square foot building in 2014, generally located on the north side of Lakeside Parkway, south of Spinks Road and west of Gerault.
Construction will also begin in 2014 on the three buildings of Crow Holdings, which will total more than 580,000-square feet and be located on the southwest corner of Lakeside Parkway and Gerault Road.
“This continues to be an exciting time in the Lakeside Business District, as square footage is in high demand in Flower Mound,” said Economic Development Director Mark Wood. “The Town is excited about these projects and is actively working with both entities to find quality tenants for each of the new buildings.”
Both facilities are expected to be complete in 2014.
The Lakeside Business District is a 1,500-acre, master-planned area within Flower Mound, located just three miles north of DFW International Airport and provides convenient access to major highways. The town invested more than $25 million in road, water, and wastewater infrastructure improvements in the district.
