In just a little more than three years since its opening, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound has achieved a significant milestone: admitting its 100,000th patient on September 20, 2013.
The 103-bed hospital, which opened April 2010, welcomed Michael Higgins early Friday morning for an inguinal hernia surgery. Higgins is president of the Higgins Branchini Shooting Foundation in Dallas, a charitable and educational organization created to support college students competing in collegiate, national, and international clay target shooting sports.
“It is always nice to be recognized for something and I am very impressed that the hospital does this. It’s great to see Texas Health Flower Mound mark this as a major milestone in only three years, which shows how far the hospital has come in this community,” Higgins said, noting both his primary care physician, Dr. James Long, and surgeon, Dr. Patrick Shovlin, are part of Texas Health Flower Mound.
According to Dr. Shovlin, who has been on the medical staff at Texas Health Flower Mound since April 2010, the goal is to treat every patient who comes through the door with the same high level of care.
“This hospital has become the go-to place in the area for receiving quality medical care because of our highly trained, compassionate staff that goes above and beyond for patients,” he explained.
“I have always been impressed with the staff at how much they enjoy working at this facility; they are very pleasant, efficient and well organized from check-in to discharge. Another thing I really enjoy is receiving a survey in the mail to give my personal feedback. I encourage others to come here for their care,” Higgins added.
