More needed rain is expected to splash into southern Denton County this weekend.
A cold front will move into the area on Saturday bringing a very good chance for showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth.
Widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are in the cards.
Don’t cancel those outdoor plans for Saturday, as scattered showers and thunderstorms are not expected to develop until Saturday afternoon and the best chances of rain are on Saturday night into early Sunday.
The front should clear Denton County during the day on Sunday.
