UPDATED: A Flower Mound man was killed Wednesday night after his car flipped over and struck a utility pole on Dixon Lane east of FM 2499.
Police said the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Dixon.
The preliminary investigation showed that Christopher Dibble, 30, lost control of his Kia sedan traveling westbound on Dixon after he struck the back of a Jeep Cherokee. The Kia rolled and collided with an electric utility pole on the north side of Dixon Lane.
It took several hours to remove Dibble from his vehicle which was badly damaged. He died at the scene. There were no other passengers in the vehicle, police said.
The driver of the Cherokee, Samuel Lyles, was not injured. The crash is still under investigation.
The accident caused a power outage that affected approximately 500 CoServ customers in the area.
Dibble was a 2002 graduate of Marcus High School, according to an Internet search.
