Pearls of Promise Ministries will hold a World Launch Party at the Bridlewood Amenity Center on Friday, May 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to introduce the Pearls of Promise devotional book to the community.
The book was co-edited and co-authored by Flower Mound residents Lisa Burkhardt-Worley, Catherine Weiskopf and Lisa Mick.
Weiskopf has authored three other books while Burkhardt-Worley spent 19 years as a television sports anchor and reporter, working on HBO’s Inside the NFL and the Madison Square Garden Network in New York City.
Other Flower Mound residents who contributed devotions to Pearls of Promise are Beth Shriver, who has authored 18 books, author of two books, Kathy R. Green, KCBI morning show anchor, Rebecca Carrell, Krish Dhanam– who worked side-by-side with motivational speaker Zig Ziglar– Alma Hall, Macey Hart, Kaye Sandridge, Angie McCoy, Jan Deering, and Karen Ambler.
Altogether, the Pearls of Promise devotional includes 120 different devotions from 46 authors and consists of twelve “pearls.” They are: Pearls of Encouragement, Faith, Comfort, Praise, Prayer, Love, Joy, Peace, Forgiveness, Trust, Truth and Wisdom.
God makes a pearl out of every trial or struggle in our lives just as pearls are formed by irritations and distress inside an oyster shell. The devotions represent authors’ stories of victory over trials and is designed to help women struggling to find freedom in similar scenarios.
“We thank God for bringing the elements of this devotional together. Without Him, our book, Pearls of Promise, would not exist,” said Pearls of Promise Founder, Lisa Burkhardt Worley. “It is our hope that the messages in this book will touch the hearts of millions of women.”
The World Launch Party will include readings from the devotional, light appetizers as well as door prizes for those who attend.
In an effort to stop human trafficking, Pearls of Promise will donate ten percent of the proceeds from the sales of the devotional to “Disrupt HT” an organization, based in Grapevine, Texas, that combats this form of slavery. To learn more, visit www.disruptht.org.
