Recent calls reported by the Double Oak Police Department:
03-01-2013 7:29 p.m. – Welfare Check – 100blk. Knob Hill, Double Oak – Patrol Officer met with a group of young males who were near a mailbox with a gas can. Upon further investigation it was determined that they were attempting to light several candles and spell out prom. Officers counseled with the young men and they cleaned up the candles.
03-02-2013 2:05 a.m. – Assist Agency (Denton County) – Lantana Trail, Lantana – Double Oak Officer provided cover to a Denton County Deputy while a motorist was administered Standardized Field Sobriety testing.
03-02-2013 5:30 a.m. – Major Accident – 100 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – One car rollover with injuries to the driver. Motorist was transported to the hospital.
03-03-2013 1:09 p.m. – Traffic Complaint – 100 blk. Lake Trail Dr., Double Oak – Residents noticed a black Ford Mustang speeding through the neighborhood. Witness did not obtain a license plate and the officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
03-03-2013 9:25 p.m. – DWI Arrest – 7800 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – During a traffic stop officer could smell alcohol and marijuana. Motorist was given Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and taken into custody.
03-03-2013 2:46 a.m. – Minor Disturbance – 8700 blk. Branch Crossing, Lantana – Double Oak PD assisted Denton County Deputy with investigation of a minor disturbance.
03-06-2013 10:50 p.m. – Minor Disturbance – 900 blk. Crepe Myrtle Ln., Copper Canyon – Double Oak PD assisted Denton County Deputy with investigation of a family disturbance. Parties were separated and no offense occurred.
03-07-2013 1:59 p.m. – Alarm – 600 blk. Simmons, Rd., Double Oak – Residential alarm triggered during installation of a new system.
03-09-2013 6:37 p.m. – Disturbance – 100 Timberleaf Ct., Double Oak – Pedestrians (skateboarders) in the roadway cussed at a resident and left prior to police arrival.
03-10-2013 6:49 p.m. – Civil Standby – 300 blk. E. Carruth Ln., Double Oak – A young adult male was attempting to retrieve personal belongings. Male was advised to contact the constable’s office for assistance.
03-10-2013 11:11 p.m. – Barking Dog – 300 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – A resident left their dog outside and it’s barking was disturbing neighbors. Owner was contacted and the dog was put inside.
03-11-2013 10:22 a.m. – Suspicious Persons – 100 blk. Fawn Hollow, Copper Canyon – Double Oak Officer assisted a Sheriff’s Deputy with looking for suspicious persons. No persons were found at the location.
03-11-2013 10:44 p.m. – Hazardous Condition – 8100 blk. Justin Rd., Denton County – A concerned motorist reported construction lighting that was blinding drivers on FM 407. Officer made contact with TXDOT and they adjusted the lights.
03-11-2013 9:35 p.m. – Structure Fire – 1700 blk. Glenview Ln., Bartonville – Officer responded to a possible structure fire call in Bartonville.
03-12-2013 8:07 a.m. – Medical Call – 100 blk. Cedarcrest, Double Oak – Call regarding a resident having medical issues.
03-15-2013 11:53 a.m. – Dogs At Large – 100 blk. Cedarcrest, Double Oak – Report of two loose dogs running through resident’s yards. Officer was unable to locate the dogs but did contact Animal Control.
03-15-2013 12:05 a.m. – Welfare Check – 300 blk. Highland Ct., Double Oak – Officer responded to a possible minor disturbance (persons yelling in the background on the 911 call) and upon arrival found that a cat had become stuck in the automatic garage door. The homeowner pried the garage door with a tool allowing the cat to dislodge it’s trapped leg. Cat was not injured.
03-15-2013 11:46 p.m. – Foot Chase – 1200 blk. FM 407 Northlake – Multiple agencies assisted Northlake Police Department with tracking down a suspect who initially fled on a motorcycle and then fled on foot. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
03-17-2013 4:46 p.m. – Assist Agency – 1100blk. Cross Timbers, Double Oak – Assisted County with a truck that struck traffic cones in a construction area.
03-17-2013 5:45 p.m. – Traffic Accident – Porter St., Bartonville, TX – Assisted Bartonville PD with investigation into a minor traffic accident.
03-20-2013 12:10 a.m. – Vehicle Complaint – 300 blk. Lake Trail, Double Oak – Neighborhood complaint about a black truck that drives at a high rate of speed through the community.
03-21-2013 1:39 p.m. – Traffic Accident – Justin Rd., Denton Cnty. – Assisted sheriff’s department with traffic control at a vehicle accident.
03-21-2013 4:47 p.m. – Theft – FM 407, Bartonville, TX – Assisted Bartonville PD with investigation into a shoplift theft at the 7-11.
03-22-2013 10:48 p.m. – Disturbance – 2000 blk. E. Hickory Hill Rd., Denton Cnty. – Assisted Sheriff’s office with responding to a call regarding a large party.
03-22-2013 6:07 p.m. – Suspicious Activity – 200 blk. Timberview, Double Oak – A resident called about an unknown man taking photographs of residences. Upon further investigation it was determined that the photographer was a real estate appraiser taking photos for comparison purposes.
03-28-2013 6:49 p.m. – Suspicious Activity – 900 blk. Stonecrest Rd., Denton Cnty. – Double Oak Units responded to a man with a gun call. Upon further investigation the allegation was made that one neighbor was peppering the other neighbor’s home with shotgun pellets.
03-30-2013 9:06 p.m. – Disturbance – 800 blk. Branch Crossing, Lantana – Double Oak Officer responded as security while Denton County Deputies separated parties involved in a family disturbance.
03-30-2013 11:34 p.m. – Criminal Mischief – 100 blk. Trailing Oaks Dr., Double Oak – A citizen reported juveniles near a residence, where the owners were out of town, that had been toilet papered in the past.
03-30-3013 9:53 a.m. – Traffic Accident – FM 407 and Simmons Rd., Denton Cnty. – Double Oak Officer investigated minor accident on FM 407.
03-30-2013 7:59 a.m. – Criminal Mischief – 300 blk. Valley View, Double Oak – Brick mailbox struck by vehicle overnight. Juvenile driver was located by Police and the parent took responsibility for the damage.
04-02-2013 11:22 p.m. – Criminal Trespass In Progress – 200 blk. Twin Lakes Dr., Double Oak – A resident reported two unknown persons trying to gain entry through the front door. Officers responded and searched the exterior of the residence and surrounding area. No suspects were located.
04-05-2013 10:40 p.m. – Disturbance – 1200 blk. S. Gibbons, Bartonville – Double Oak responded to a request for cover by Bartonville PD during the investigation of a loud party.
04-05-2013 7:53 a.m. – Accident – FM 407 and Benson Rd., Bartonville – Double Oak Officer provided traffic control during an accident investigation by Bartonville PD.
04-06-2013 3:10 p.m. – Ordinance Violation – 100 blk. Kyle Ct., Double Oak – A homeowner reported that an adult male was discharging fireworks inside Town limits. Fireworks were voluntarily turned over to the responding officer.
04-07-2013 12:26 a.m. – Disturbance – 1000 blk. Broome Rd., Bartonville – Double Oak PD responded with Bartonville to a loud party complaint.
04-07-2013 2:57 a.m. – Accident – 8000 blk. FM 407, Denton County – A motorist struck a stray cow on FM 407. Cow ran from the scene last observed fleeing towards Double Oak.
04-07-2013 4:20 p.m. – Suspicious Activity – 100 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – A young family knocked on a Double Oak resident’s door and asked about purchasing a recreational vehicle and/or vehicle parts on their property. During the conversation the young couple offered to resurface the homeowner’s driveway and asked about obtaining painkillers and other unused prescription medications from the senior citizen homeowners. Please call law enforcement if someone arrives at your residence soliciting unusual business or requesting unused prescription painkillers!
04-08-2013 12:45 a.m. – Theft – 100 blk. N. Woodland, Double Oak – Resident reported that a birthday delivery of balloons had been taken without permission.
04-09-2013 8:41 p.m. – Traffic Complaint – 100 blk. McMakin Rd., Bartonville – Investigation into a road rage incident. Call was cleared when both motorists were released from the scene.
04-11-2013 8:23 p.m. – Lost Property – 6100 blk. Plantation Ln., Double Oak – A resident reported that their driver’s license was missing.
04-12-2013 9:58 p.m. – Suspicious Activity – 100 blk. Hwy 377 S. Argyle – Reports of suspicious activity on the high school football field.
04-13-2013 5:11 p.m. – Assault – 400 blk. Cross Timbers, Double Oak – Report of an eighteen year old adult male assaulting a person at that location. Eighteen year old male was arrested for Assault with Bodily injury.
04-13-2013 8:47 p.m. – Assault – 900 blk. Briar Grove Ct., Copper Canyon – Report of two adult females fighting. Involved parties declined to file criminal complaints.
04-15-2013 12:26 p.m. – Traffic Accident – 700 blk. Cross Timbers Dr., Double Oak – Two vehicle collision. One person transported to the hospital.
04-16-2013 5:50 p.m. – Overdose – Double Oak – Report of an eighteen year old reporting problems after having smoked “K2” (synthetic marijuana). Subject received medical treatment and was released at the scene. Officers stayed with the young man until a responsible adult party was found to take him home.
04-17-2013 3:10 a.m. – Overdose – Lantana – Officers responded to a drug overdose involving a young adult male running through the neighborhood and presenting a danger to himself and others. Possible intoxicants were hallucinogenic mushrooms and “K2” (synthetic marijuana). Officers chased the young man down and had him transported to the hospital for treatment.
