John Fox with Victory Mortgage in Flower Mound (pictured right) last week presented a check for $5,000 to Union Gospel Missions, a charity that assists the homeless in Dallas, at a monthly fundraiser lunch at Bari’s Italian Restaurant.
Fox also donated 40 backpacks filled with school supplies to underprivileged students in the Argyle School District.
About a year ago, Fox began hosting a fundraiser luncheon on the second Tuesday of each month at Bari’s on Long Prairie Rd. in Flower Mound to raise money for local homeless shelters.
A portion of the proceeds from the lunches are given to the charities, said Fox. He also raised money by holding quarterly raffles for an iPad 3 donated by Victory Mortgage.
In addition to the “lunch money”, Fox said that Victory Mortgage donates $20 per file from the profits generated on each mortgage transaction.
At the monthly luncheon, Fox said door prizes are donated by local businesses such as Shellman’s Fine Wine & Spirits and Nothing Bundt Cakes.
